The letter name is commonly glossed “window.” Kircher places it between Chokmah and Tiphareth; the Golden Dawn later aligns it with Aries and The Emperor. Each statement belongs to a different historical layer.

Heh among the simple letters

Heh belongs to the twelve simple letters in Sefer Yetzirah, associated with months and zodiacal signs. Their exact ordering varies by recension; the text does not draw the later Chokmah to Tiphareth connection assigned to Heh.

Heh is one of twelve simple letters. The later Aries assignment draws on a twelvefold zodiacal scheme, but the direct Chokmah–Tiphareth connection is not specified by Sefer Yetzirah.

From Chokmah to Tiphareth

Kircher places Heh on the diagonal from Chokmah to Tiphereth. The route carries force from the upper-right sphere into the center before any tarot card is attached.

Chokmah contributes wisdom, while Tiphareth contributes beauty or glory.

The Golden Dawn correspondence gives path 15 the attribution Aries and the tarot trump The Emperor. This row is later than Kircher’s plate and much later than the letter classification.

Golden Dawn gives Heh, Aries, and the Emperor to path 15. Crowley’s “Tzaddi is not the Star” revision exchanges the Hebrew letters associated with Emperor and Star; modern Thelemic charts may therefore show Heh with the Star while retaining other path conventions.

The changed title or letter assignment is substantive. Printing both labels without a date would collapse a historical revision into an apparent synonym.

What later readers make of the path

This is one of the atlas’s clearest variant points. A page that lists Heh, Emperor, Star, Aries, and Aquarius in one undated row conceals a real editorial change.
