Open Body & Values

Body & Values is a seven-card check-in arranged from grounding through desire, agency, care, voice, insight, and meaning. The labels borrow familiar chakra-style sequencing while remaining prompts for reflection. The spread does not diagnose energy centers or physical conditions.

A useful question for this spread

Where do my body, choices, relationships, and sense of meaning feel out of balance?

The question can be made more specific to your circumstances before you draw. Keep the wording open enough for an unexpected card and grounded enough to connect the cards to something you can observe or decide.

The 7 positions, in order

The position labels below follow this version of the spread. Keep the order visible while reading so a compelling card does not cause its place to change after the draw.

  1. 1
    Grounding

Use this card to establish the question’s starting point.

  2. 2
    Desire

Connect this card with its neighbors while keeping this position’s label fixed.

  3. 3
    Agency

Connect this card with its neighbors while keeping this position’s label fixed.

  4. 4
    Care

Identify a real source of support, capacity, or care.

  5. 5
    Voice

Connect this card with its neighbors while keeping this position’s label fixed.

  6. 6
    Insight

Connect this card with its neighbors while keeping this position’s label fixed.

  7. 7
    Meaning

Ask what matters here and how that value appears in behavior.

How to read the pattern

Read adjacent positions as transitions. A strong Voice card beside a difficult Care card may suggest that speaking is easy but listening is strained. Agency can be read alongside Desire to ask whether a wish has a workable plan. Meaning is not a score for the other six places.

After looking at the cards individually, compare the first position with the final one. Notice what changed in between and which cards complicate a simple story. A repeated suit or image can focus attention, but its meaning still depends on the question and the position.

An example reading

Four of Pentacles in Grounding might reflect a need for stability. Ace of Wands in Desire can show momentum, while Two of Swords in Voice raises hesitation about naming it. A small conversation could be more useful than trying to interpret the whole column as a verdict.

This example shows how a card can open a question without proving a hidden fact or fixing the outcome. The next useful step is to compare the idea with the real situation and revise it when new information arrives.

Body & Values tarot spread FAQ

How many cards are in the Body & Values tarot spread?

This version uses 7 cards in a fixed order: Grounding, Desire, Agency, and 4 later positions ending with Meaning. The numbered diagram and position list use the same sequence, so the role of a card stays stable while you interpret it.

What question works best for the Body & Values spread?

Begin with “Where do my body, choices, relationships, and sense of meaning feel out of balance?” and replace any broad wording with the situation, decision, or time period you actually want to examine. The spread works best as a structured reflection rather than proof of another person’s private thoughts or a guaranteed prediction.

How should I compare Grounding with Meaning?

Treat Grounding as the opening frame and Meaning as the closing frame. Use Care and the other middle positions to explain what connects them instead of jumping directly from the first card to a fixed outcome.
