IHVH is repeated twelve times.
How the diagram is organized
The visible core is a small center within a square field. Around it, twelve repetitions line the square and its interior divisions. At the edge, a circular verse band encloses the repeated name.
Mathers plate and witness differences
Mathers says the verse is “somewhat similar” to Daniel rather than identifying it as a direct quotation. The cautious wording should remain: a later page must not silently promote resemblance into exact citation.
Plate VIII is an artifact of Mathers’s 1889 arrangement. His preface and final note say that he compared differing manuscripts and restored difficult Hebrew and magical characters. Sloane 2731 and Lansdowne 1203 remain distinct manuscript objects; this printed crop should not stand in for either one.
