A relocation chart changes the horizon
A relocated chart uses the same UTC birth instant and planetary positions but calculates angles and houses for another latitude and longitude. The Sun's tropical longitude and a natal Sun-Moon aspect do not change when the location changes. The Ascendant, Midheaven, and house placements may change substantially. For example, a planet in one house at the birth city can appear in a different house at a distant destination without either planet moving at the birth moment. Readers should keep both locations, coordinates, birth time, and house system visible when comparing the two charts.
Angular lines are a map of conditions
Astrocartography marks geographic places where a planet was rising, setting, near the local meridian above, or near the opposite meridian at the recorded instant. An MC line and an Ascendant line for the same planet describe different horizon relationships. Curves on a flat projection can look distorted; the calculation belongs to the sphere, while the map is only a drawing. A birth-time error can move a line enough to matter to a city-level comparison. Clickable map tools should identify the selected line and its angular label rather than rely on color alone.
Local Space starts from a compass direction
Local Space instead begins with a reference place and the topocentric bearing and altitude of a body at the birth moment. A great-circle path can extend an initial bearing across a globe, but a line drawn on a rectangular map may bend because of the projection. At a planet's exact zenith or nadir, an azimuth is undefined; a calculator should say so instead of inventing a direction. Opposite compass bearings represent a full line, not two independent planet placements. A destination's distance from a line is geometry, not a score of benefit.
Limits of locational advice
Coordinates, historical clock rules, and the chosen map projection are part of the method. A person planning a move also needs ordinary information about housing, work, safety, language, and community; a symbolic map cannot replace those realities. Interpretations vary among astrologers, and no line can establish that a particular relationship or career outcome will occur. Use a map to formulate a question, then inspect the underlying chart factors and the actual circumstances of the places being compared.
