How to read a transit

A transit compares a moving planet’s longitude at a chosen time with a planet’s birth-chart longitude. These guides use conjunction (0°), square (90°), trine (120°), and opposition (180°). A listed aspect may be close to its ideal angle without being exact; the difference is its orb. Check the measured degree, date, and whether a retrograde planet returns to the same point. A local-noon snapshot and an exact hit are different things.

The Sun’s close contacts are brief. Mercury, Venus, and Mars can revisit a degree during apparent retrograde motion. The natal Moon’s precise degree is uncertain when the birth time is unknown. Houses and angles need reliable birth time and place; these guides concern planet-to-planet longitude only. Astrological interpretation is symbolic and for reflection, not a scientific forecast of events.
