Topocentric Planet Positions Calculator

See how apparent tropical positions change when the viewpoint moves from Earth’s centre to a selected place on its surface. Compare the Moon, Sun, and eight planets at one recorded instant.

Choose a time and place

Enter the local date and clock time, the UTC offset that actually applied there, and geographic coordinates. An exact birth comparison needs a reliable birth time.

The editable example is Manila on 21 June 2026. A fixed UTC offset does not automatically account for historical daylight saving time. If the birth hour is unknown, these results can describe a chosen moment, but they are not a natal position table.

What changes with viewpoint?

Geocentric means the vector begins at Earth’s centre. Topocentric means it begins at the entered observer position. The nearby Moon has the largest parallax and usually shows the clearest change in ecliptic longitude or latitude. Other bodies can shift by small amounts, sometimes enough to matter for a very tight degree comparison. The signed differences in the result are the topocentric value minus the geocentric value, wrapped across 0° Aries.

Both columns use apparent tropical coordinates on the true ecliptic and equinox of the selected date. The underlying vectors include light-time and aberration correction. The table reports planet centres and does not calculate houses, chart angles, nodes, or an astrological interpretation. Read the geocentric versus topocentric guide for the coordinate model and record limits.
