What is a solar return?
The astronomical calculation finds when the Sun’s apparent tropical ecliptic longitude matches its position in the natal chart. Astrological interpretation of that moment is a separate tradition and is not a prediction from the calculation itself.

How the moment is found
The calculator derives the natal Sun longitude from the local birth date, time, and historical UTC offset. It then numerically searches near that anniversary in the chosen year and rounds the crossing to the nearest minute. The result displays both Sun positions and their small remaining difference.
What the return chart includes
At the calculated UTC instant, the page draws a geocentric tropical chart wheel and lists planetary positions. The return location supplies an Ascendant, Midheaven, and twelve house cusps. Choose Whole Sign, Equal, Porphyry, or Placidus; at extreme latitudes the page labels a Porphyry fallback when Placidus cannot be calculated.
Interpretation is separate
The return calculation is a well-defined position match. Astrological traditions interpret the resulting chart in different ways; this tool does not infer events from it. Birth times and historical offsets matter because they establish the natal Sun longitude used as the target.
