What the calculator counts
The first year of life activates the rising sign, which is the first Whole Sign place. Each birthday moves the count one zodiac sign forward. At age twelve the count returns to the rising sign. The ruler shown is the traditional ruler of the active sign: Mars for Aries and Scorpio, Venus for Taurus and Libra, Mercury for Gemini and Virgo, the Moon for Cancer, the Sun for Leo, Jupiter for Sagittarius and Pisces, and Saturn for Capricorn and Aquarius.
A date of birth without a known rising sign cannot determine which sign starts the count. You may supply the sign from a trusted natal chart or calculate it here from a recorded birth moment. The sign you supply is treated as an input, not a verified chart result. A birth close to a rising-sign boundary deserves a time sensitivity check.
