Uncrossing Spell for Love: Clear the Repeating Knot

Suppose Ione and Halden catalogue bird calls for a wetland observatory. Their relationship is affectionate until a sponsor installs a listening horn in the recording hide. After each shift, the horn whispers that Halden must abandon Ione for the sponsor’s daughter. By morning he remembers the command as his own thought.

The pattern is specific: desire changes after one channel, repeats in language he would not use, and weakens when the horn is absent. That does not prove what Halden will feel after clearing; it identifies what should be removed.

He can cast Silence Every Coercive Whisper so every whisper aimed at him becomes harmless silence. The working targets the horn’s repeated command, not Ione’s understandable fear or the relationship’s unanswered questions.

Ione’s anger tempts her toward a clearing so total that every feeling attached to the season would disappear. Yet the sponsor did not create their years of shared work.

She can cast Counterspell Without Wounding Love so each counterspell against coercive love leaves Halden’s genuine affection unharmed. The distinction protects truth, not the relationship’s outcome.

Whatever survives must still answer for secrecy, fear, and what each person now wants. Uncrossing restores authorship; it does not waive consequence.

Halden chooses to remain with Ione, but not under the old arrangement. They remove sponsor equipment and review every recording made through it. Their love continues as a decision made after uncertainty, not as proof that the uncrossing “worked correctly.”

Another couple might part in the same cleared field. The spell succeeds when the answer belongs to them.
