She has left one shelf empty for Sorin’s charts, declined apprenticeships abroad, and designed every holiday around a possible shore leave. Letting go begins when she recognizes these arrangements as active attachment, not harmless evidence of devotion.
Because heartbreak has become continuous rather than clarifying, Aveline can cast Lift the Grieving Heart and lift the sorrow of the love she has lost. The spell does not revise Sorin into a villain. It removes grief from the throne where it has been making decisions.

A book made for a shared journey contains only one person’s handwriting
Aveline has spent three years binding an atlas with blank pages for journeys she imagined taking with Sorin. Each time he sends a chart, she adds a pocket and leaves the facing page untouched for his future notes.

A gift may preserve attachment long after intention has changed
Sorin’s brass dividers are useful tools, yet Aveline handles them whenever she wants to feel chosen. The object has become a switch: touch activates the future she is trying to return.
She can use Gifts That Unravel Attachment so handling his gifts loosens rather than renews the bond. The dividers need not be broken or discarded. Their office changes from reliquary to instrument.
This is subtler than erasure. A released object may stay beautiful. Its presence simply stops dictating whom the next page is for.
