Love uncrossing therefore begins with attribution. What changed, through which channel, and what would remain if the imposed element vanished? Clearing everything indiscriminately can destroy the evidence needed to answer those questions—or strip genuine affection away with the coercion.
The aim is not to force love back into motion. It is to let the heart recover an unconfused direction.

Suppose Kezia and Ruan catalogue private map collections for an old auction house. Their affection grew slowly through years of shared work. After a collector begins sending spiced cordial to their late inspections, Ruan develops fierce longing for the collector and sudden contempt for Kezia. Each reversal follows the drink and the collector’s whispered instructions through an antique speaking tube.
The sequence matters. One bad week would not establish a crossed condition. Here the emotional change repeats after named channels, contradicts Ruan’s prior conduct, and carries a command-shaped pattern. The love question has become an interference question.
Because the cordial creates attraction, Ruan can cast Purge the Enchanted Cup's Desire and remove every trace of desire made by that drink. This targets the channel precisely instead of calling every changed feeling a curse.

During inspection of a maritime atlas, Kezia notices a second route glowing across each chart whenever Ruan drinks. The luminous line always ends at the collector’s locked gallery, regardless of the map beneath it.
Ruan remembers the collector’s voice as his own thought. He begins hiding bids, missing appointments, and describing Kezia with phrases he never used before. When the cup is absent, the bright route fades but shame and confusion remain.

03 / RESTORATION IS A BASELINE, NOT A VERDICT
The untouched heart may return with an inconvenient answer
After the induced attraction leaves, Ruan still cannot remember what he felt before it arrived. A clean channel is not the same as recovered interior continuity.
He can cast Restore the Untouched Heart so his feelings return exactly as they were before the love spell touched them. The restoration gives Kezia and Ruan a genuine baseline. It does not erase what happened or guarantee that affection will survive betrayal and secrecy unchanged.
Ruan’s restored love is real. Kezia’s mistrust is also real. Uncrossing succeeds when both can be present without foreign magic dictating which one wins.

A cleared road still contains consequences
The auction house seals the speaking tube, rejects the collector’s gifts, and restores the hidden records. The channels of interference are actually closed: no cordial enters, no whisper travels, and no glowing route appears over the maps.
Ruan and Kezia do not resume their old intimacy immediately. They work at separate tables and review every altered transaction. The clean map gives them a truthful choice, including the possibility that love survives while partnership does not.
