A carrier can be clean while its desire remains active
The cordial is gone and the glass is physically clean. Yet Orla’s attraction began in the drink and still returns under the tunnel’s darkness, when the carriage resembles the first enchanted journey.
She can cast Purge the Enchanted Cup's Desire to remove every trace of attraction created by that drink. The power targets manufactured desire rather than glass, tunnels, or all pleasure associated with travel.
Cleansing becomes precise when the material object and the emotional effect are allowed to have different afterlives.

Orla washed the vessel and preserved the route
Suppose Orla curated drinks aboard a night train where a former lover enchanted one tasting glass.
After the relationship ends, Orla retires the glass but keeps it in the cabinet beside the service tunnel map. Each dark passage triggers attraction toward whoever last touched the cup. She interprets the changing target as proof that she cannot trust her own heart.

Preference needs restoration when enchantment changed its direction
The cup did more than intensify one attraction. It trained Orla’s desire to follow whoever handled the vessel, replacing her ordinary romantic preferences with proximity to a carrier.
She can cast Their True Desire Returns and restore the romantic preferences the enchantment altered. This office differs from clearing one person’s influence: it returns the compass by which later desire can be recognized.
A reset is complete only when the heart can orient without the old spell deciding what counts as north.

Cleansing ends when ordinary evidence can carry the future
Orla’s next attraction need not prove that every prior layer is gone. The better sign is proportion: feeling follows actual encounter rather than cup contact, a tunnel can pass without changing the beloved, and memory of the former lover no longer functions as a command.
The old story remains part of Orla’s history. Cleansing prevents it from becoming the template through which every new desire must travel. The heart is neither blank nor pure; it is returned to authorship.
