The Parāśari four-start rule
Bhāṁśa D27 divides each 30° sidereal rāśi into 27 portions of exactly 1°06′40″. Bṛhat Parāśara Horā Śāstra 6.26 says this division begins from Aries and the other movable signs. This calculator interprets that as Aries for fire signs, Cancer for earth signs, Libra for air signs, and Capricorn for water signs. From the relevant start, count forward one zodiac sign per portion. A published D27 sign table shows this same four-column sequence.
These are derived signs from the sidereal D1 longitude. They are not new observed planetary positions. The twenty-seven divisions inside every 30° sign should not be confused with the twenty-seven named nakṣatras, each spanning 13°20′ of the whole zodiac.
Read your result
The South Indian diagram fixes the signs in place and marks transformed D27 Lagna. The table preserves each D1 sign and degree, identifies its numbered portion and starting sign, then shows the mapped D27 sign and stretched degree. Use the calculation guide to check all exact boundaries by hand.
Parāśara 7.5 associates Bhāṁśa with bala–abala, a traditional consideration of relative strength and weakness. This chart does not measure physical strength, health, resilience, or ability. Compare it with D1 as an interpretive tradition, taking birth-data uncertainty seriously.
