How to find and read Mars

Use a calculated birth chart for the date and place of birth. Mars orbits outside Earth and can appear anywhere in the zodiac relative to the Sun. Its apparent retrograde motion can make a sign passage longer or shorter than an average estimate. Near an ingress, the exact birth time may settle which sign Mars occupies.
