Tertiary Progressions II

Also called minor progressions: compare natal planets with a symbolic ephemeris date that advances 27.32158218 days for each tropical year of life. Inspect the mapped date, chart positions, and close contacts.

Calculate a natal–tertiary comparison

The UTC offset must describe the historical birth place on that date. Enter the target moment in UTC. The example is illustrative; replace it with a birth record.

The planetary sky at the symbolic date is geocentric and needs no location. The calculator omits progressed angles and houses because their direction methods vary.

What tertiary progressions II mean

This timing method scales the tropical lunar month to a year of life. If 20 tropical years have elapsed after birth, the calculator samples planetary positions 20 × 27.32158218 = 546.4316436 days after the birth instant. The ephemeris date is a symbolic comparison, not the observed sky on the target date and not a causal forecast.

The age here is elapsed UTC days divided by 365.24219. This is a continuous key: moving the target date by one day shifts the symbolic date by roughly 1.795 hours. Planet longitudes come from Astronomy Engine’s apparent geocentric tropical calculation. The shared chart engine accepts minutes, so the display chart uses the nearest UTC minute; the unrounded mapped instant is shown separately.

How to read the comparison

The inner wheel markers are natal tropical planet positions. The outer markers show the tertiary II positions on the same zodiac scale. Read the exact sign and degree from the table, then inspect the list of major cross-chart aspects within 1°. Similar positions between charts are geometric contacts, not evidence that a particular event will happen.
