One lunar-return chart per completed year
Tertiary progressions II, often called minor progressions, compress a lunar month of ephemeris time into a year of lived time. A continuous minor progression samples a planet's symbolic position at a changing ephemeris instant each day. The lunar-return variant instead freezes one chart for each complete tropical year. When the next year of age is reached, the selected chart advances to the next return of the progressed Moon to its natal zodiac longitude.
The numbered return is calculated from the recorded birth instant. Year zero shows the birth reference; year one selects the first following progressed lunar return, year two the second, and so forth. The result prints the first and last instants of the selected target-year interval in UTC. A target one minute before its boundary still receives the earlier chart, while a target at the boundary receives the next one. These boundaries use elapsed tropical years of 365.242199 days, not the calendar's midnight birthday rule. This is a transparent implementation choice that can make a few minutes' difference near an anniversary.
Finding the ephemeris event
The Moon's apparent geocentric tropical longitude is calculated at birth. For the selected integer year, the search centers on birth plus that many mean tropical lunar months of 27.32158218 days. It brackets the actual crossing and halves the interval until the Moon again reaches the birth longitude. Lunar motion is not perfectly uniform, so simply adding a fixed number of months would miss the exact return. The page shows the unrounded event time and a separate chart sample rounded to the nearest UTC minute.
Planet positions are calculated at that symbolic ephemeris event. They are not the actual sky on the visitor's selected target date. Their zodiac signs and degrees can be compared with other progressions as an astrological timing convention, without a claim that an event will occur. The table includes retrograde markers where the local daily motion is negative. A recorded birth time matters especially for the Moon; its longitude changes appreciably over a day. The form does not silently substitute noon when time is unknown.
Which lunar return do you need?
The ordinary lunar return finds a real future instant when the transiting Moon reaches its natal longitude, roughly every 27 to 28 days.
