Find planetary returns

Enter the recorded local birth time and historical UTC offset. A date alone cannot fix the natal longitude precisely. Choose a planet and start date to list its exact returns within the stated search range.

The search lasts 2 years for Mercury, 3 for Venus, 5 for Mars, 15 for Jupiter, and 33 for Saturn, ending sooner at the supported 2100 date limit.

What this calculator matches

A planetary return occurs when a moving planet’s apparent geocentric tropical ecliptic longitude equals that planet’s longitude at birth. The target is taken from the recorded birth instant, converted to UTC using the historical offset you enter. Birthplace is unnecessary for this geocentric longitude comparison. A return chart with local houses, however, would need a chosen location; this date finder does not cast those houses.

Each row is an exact crossing found by sampling the planetary longitude and refining a change of sign around the natal target. Direct means increasing zodiac longitude; retrograde means decreasing longitude. If the planet loops across the target, it may have an initial direct crossing, a retrograde recrossing, and another direct crossing. The table keeps each one rather than selecting a single preferred date.

Reported times are rounded to a UTC minute. The residual column shows the small difference between the natal target and the recalculated position at that rounded minute. The CSV contains the unrounded target longitude, search bounds, listed times, and residuals. Longitude conventions and an ephemeris model can differ slightly from other sites, so minute-for-minute agreement is not guaranteed.
