Birth details and comparison

Use the local civil clock time recorded at birth. Supply the offset that applied then; a present-day time zone may be wrong for an older birth.

No birth details are sent or saved. The chart comparison runs in this browser. Birth coordinates are not needed for geocentric zodiac longitude; houses and local eclipse visibility are outside this lookup.

Which eclipse longitude is compared?

The solar rows use the Sun’s tropical longitude at the global eclipse peak; lunar rows use the Moon’s. The tool measures shortest angular separation from each natal planet, then tests conjunction, sextile, square, trine, or opposition with your chosen inclusive orb. It does not compare the eclipse shadow with a birthplace or add nodal, house, or angle contacts.

If the birth time is unknown

A noon birth chart would make the natal Moon look more certain than it is. The unknown-time option withholds the Moon and samples the other planets across the local date every fifteen minutes, plus 23:59. It labels matches as possible at sampled times. Even a result seen throughout these samples is not an exact natal placement. A single UTC offset also cannot describe a daylight-saving clock change within the date.

Sources and calculation notes

The event longitude is the Sun at a solar peak or Moon at a lunar peak. Birth-chart planetary longitudes use the same tropical coordinate convention. The five aspect names are geometric filters; meanings attributed to them are part of astrological interpretation.
