A historical calendar date as the starting point
The date and city are sufficient for a careful, time-independent comparison of zodiac signs. A chart wheel with houses would add an unrecorded assumption, so this study begins with the stable and changing rows instead.
Planetary sign range for the recorded date
The possible signs cover hourly positions across the recorded date and every civil-day UTC offset from +14 to −12. Without a verified birth hour or offset, a body that crosses a sign boundary remains unresolved.
