Interpretation becomes testable when the recipient can restate the message in their own terms before acting. Verbatim repetition proves visual or verbal memory. Paraphrase reveals whether sender and recipient share the same map.

The paper’s deepest office is not permanence but comparison: the received meaning can be placed beside the original sentence until the point of divergence becomes visible.
