The crucial sentence is narrow: this named person cannot use these named channels to impose this named conduct upon this named target. Narrowness is not timidity. THE CLAIM CHANGES SHAPE
The complaint box shows that Mara invented the promise after her contract ended. The binding bars her named threshold, neutralizes the coercive sentence, and keeps the record able to speak without erasing truthful claims.
A boundary needs memory
A harassment binding without a record can become captive to the latest encounter. Every new message feels like a new mystery; every apology seems to reset the pattern. Record gives magical continuity. Dates, repeated phrases, proxy names, and returned objects show the working that the conduct is one shape moving through different carriers.
At the shed, the direct crossing required its own absolute office. Imani could work The Door No Malice Can Remember at the freight lane because its power bars a named adversary from finding or crossing a chosen threshold. That is materially narrower—and more useful—than wishing Mara generally immobilized: the depot becomes unavailable to her malice while the rest of the city remains hers.
The complaint box changed the evidentiary layer. Once the dispute depended on sealed statements and buried manifests, Imani could work The Archive Made to Scream and make those locked records disclose their secrets. Its revelation does not substitute for the binding; it prevents the binding from being built around Mara’s rewritten history.
The difference between restraint and domination
A binding becomes domination when its success requires the target to lose capacities unrelated to the offense: movement, livelihood, friendship, truthful speech, or self-defense. Precision asks less of a person and more of the claim. It specifies the prohibited crossing, the protected recipient, and the duration of jurisdiction.
That distinction also governs proxies. A driver carrying an ordinary invoice is not Mara. A driver repeating her coercive sentence is carrying the bound route. The spell follows the operative pattern rather than punishing association. In the same way, an honest message about returning rented equipment should pass; a disguised instruction to surrender disputed stock should fail.
The strongest ending is legible before the restraint begins. The binding may expire after a settled claim, an established period without prohibited contact, or a formal change in access. Without an ending, vigilance becomes the spell’s permanent fuel. With one, the boundary can become ordinary architecture again.
The proxy test: carrier, participant, or witness?
Harassment often borrows other people, but a precise binding does not treat everyone who touches the route as an extension of the harasser. The driver who unknowingly carries Mara’s docket is a carrier. The person who knowingly repeats its coercive sentence is a participant. The worker who preserves the docket and describes what happened is a witness. Their contact with the same paper does not give them the same magical office.
This distinction keeps the binding from consuming its own evidence. If every carrier is silenced, the depot loses the testimony that proves how the route operated. If every witness is treated as hostile, ordinary cooperation becomes impossible.
