This teaching chart is fictional. Its positions were chosen to make the arithmetic and reading sequence easy to inspect; they do not describe a historical sky or a real person's birth chart. Use your own calculated chart for a personal reading.
1. Write down the factors

Aries is the first Whole Sign house, so Gemini is third, Leo is fifth, and Aquarius is eleventh. A different house system could assign a different house near a cusp. Start with the Sun in Leo and Moon in Aquarius guides, then compare the Aries rising entry. The example uses Mars as Aries' traditional ruler.
2. Check the strongest aspect
Leo begins at 120° zodiac longitude, so Sun at 15° Leo is 135°. Aquarius begins at 300°, so Moon at 18° Aquarius is 318°. Their smaller circular separation is 177°. Opposition is exact at 180°, leaving a 3° orb. That is the calculation behind the Sun opposite Moon label; the two signs alone did not establish the orb.
Now read the house context: Sun in the fifth house and Moon in the eleventh house. The fifth can frame personal creative expression, while the eleventh can frame groups and networks. Read the opposition as a possible tension between making something distinctly one's own and participating in a collective. That is one symbolic question to explore, not a claim that the person struggles socially.
3. Add the chart ruler and synthesize
With an Aries Ascendant, traditional practice turns to Mars. Mars at 16° Gemini in the third Whole Sign house connects initiative with information, conversation, and learning in this invented chart. Compare Mars in Gemini with Mars in the third house. This modifies how one might approach the Sun–Moon theme; it does not erase it.
“This chart juxtaposes visible personal expression (Sun in Leo, fifth house) with emotional attention to peers or groups (Moon in Aquarius, eleventh house). Their 3° opposition makes that axis worth exploring. Aries rising and its ruler Mars in Gemini add a more direct, verbal way of engaging the question.”
Every phrase above can be traced to a listed factor. The reading leaves room for the person to say whether it fits. The chart does not disclose what happened in their life or what decision they should make.
4. Check the limits before adapting it
The example uses an exact Ascendant and houses because it assumes a known birth time. If the time were unknown, remove Aries rising, Mars as Ascendant ruler, and the house claims. Recheck the Moon across the possible day if it approaches an ingress. You could still calculate a Sun–Moon separation range, but do not state an exact orb until you know the Moon's position closely enough. See the unknown-birth-time guide for that workflow.
