How the dates are mapped

At a selected age, the calculator advances the birth instant by that many days in the ephemeris. It searches around that symbolic time for the exact geocentric New and Full Moons, then maps each symbolic day from birth to 365.24219 days of life. For example, a New Moon 30 days after birth in the ephemeris maps to age 30.

The phase event is a real astronomical instant; the life date is a symbolic conversion. Other progression keys and ephemerides can yield different dates. Birth time uncertainty also shifts the mapped life date. The chart omits angles and houses because progressed axes have multiple conventions and require reliable birth details.

Reading the progressed lunation

A day for a year

Enter a recorded birth time and historical UTC offset, then choose a target life date or age. The tool advances the birth instant by one symbolic ephemeris day for each tropical year of life. At the resulting symbolic instant, it looks backward and forward for exact geocentric Sun–Moon conjunctions and oppositions. This is a stated timing convention, not an astronomical claim that the Moon changes phase in a person’s life on those mapped dates.

Read both kinds of date

Each event shows the exact UTC New or Full Moon time in the symbolic sky and the corresponding mapped UTC date in the person’s life. These are different dates with different meanings. A chart for the last progressed New Moon gives calculated tropical planetary positions at that symbolic sky time; it deliberately omits houses and an Ascendant because progressed angles have competing methods.

Birth-time uncertainty

When the birth time is unknown, the tool uses a clearly labeled noon-UTC sample on the entered date. One day in the symbolic ephemeris corresponds to about a year on the mapped life timeline, so even a few hours of birth-time uncertainty can move an interpreted date materially. The page flags that limitation and never claims a definite outcome from a progressed phase.
