How this chart is made

The longitude of the selected tropical North Node is subtracted from every tropical planet, angle, and house cusp, then wrapped around the 360° circle. This places the selected North Node at 0° Aries while preserving the angular distances between the other points.

Draconic signs are coordinates in a derived reference frame. They are not the planets’ apparent positions in the sky. The true and mean nodes differ slightly, so the selection can change displayed degrees and, near boundaries, signs.

Method and limits

How the rotation works

The tool first calculates an ordinary tropical birth chart and the selected true or mean North Node at the same UTC instant. It subtracts the node’s tropical longitude from every planetary longitude and wraps the answer around a 360-degree circle. In the derived result, the North Node is at 0° Aries and the South Node at 0° Libra. These positions are chart coordinates, not new physical sky positions.

What changes and what stays

The same rotation is applied to valid Ascendant, Midheaven, and house cusps when a reliable birth time and location are supplied. Angular distances between points remain unchanged; house sectors are retained after rotation. Switching between the true and mean node can alter displayed degrees and sometimes a sign near a boundary. The original and derived columns let you inspect that choice directly.

Unknown time and interpretation

An unknown-time option samples planetary positions at local noon, omits angles and houses, and flags uncertainty in the Moon and true node. Enter the historical UTC offset used at the birthplace; quick city presets do not resolve older daylight-saving rules. Draconic symbolism is an interpretive tradition, and this page reports the transformation without claiming it predicts an event or measures a trait.
